Artru.info is the biggest database of Russian and Soviet art. It also includes foreign artists, who have studied in Russia/ the USSR, emigrants, artists from former republics of the USSR. The database contains not only biography articles, but also cross references such as: “master-student-school”, “artist-art society”. All these help you to get the full overview of the artist. We have been working on the web-site daily since 2007. A good deal of information has been added by the visitors. The information added by the web-site produces is found to conform to copyright law. All visitors, who add the information, are kindly requested to keep the copyright law. Artru.info producers: Dmitriy Kolosov- art expert and art historian. How to use Artru.info: To find the surname: 1. Use “Artists” section. All surnames are alphabetized. 2. Use the web-site search. Please, use Latin letters to enter the surname. If you can use Russian letters, please, choose the Pussian version of the web-site. Please, remember, that some Russian letters look like several Latin ones if they’re written in Latin. 3. In case you have failed in searching yourselves, please, write us. You can send the photo of the signature you want to read. Due to separate your letter from the big list of correspondence, please, put the word “artru” as a message subject. All information on the web-site is free, but, please keep the copyright law! You can also be authorized . The authorized user is able to: 1. Add artists, he is interested in, to his list and receive the messages if new information appears on the site. 2. Add artists’ biographies and make modifications in them. After been checked they will be added to the main base. All added texts should be in Russian. 3. Add illustrations. In case you have failed in searching the necessary information or couldn’t take it all in you can get an opinion on a paying basis. The opinion cost is discussed on personal bases after you tell us the data (Last, first and middle names) of the needed artist and the value of information you want to get. You can also get an opinion on a paying bases in case you meet difficulties in reading the signature and affiliating the artist. Please, pay attention to the fact you get the opinion, not the expert advise or the attribution with a certificate. In some cases it is impossible to find any information about the artist or to be sure the identification is correct. In this case you will suffer no expenses.
